Palak Paneer

Ingredients:

Spinach (palak) - 2bunches
Green chillies -2
Onions - 3-4
Tomatoes - 3
Garlic - 5 flakes
Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Cumin seeds -1/2 tsp
Masoor dhal - 1 tblsp
Dania powder - 1 tblsp
Chilli powder - 1 tsp
Paneer - cut into cubes
salt - as per taste

Procedure:
  • Wash and chop palak finely
  • Add masoor dhal with enough water and pressure cook. Allow it to cool
  • Slice onions, tomatoes and garlic into long thin pieces.
  • Heat 1 tblsp of oil in a kadai, first add garlic, onion till golden brown. Then add tomatoes and fry.
  • Grind cooked palak with the above ingredients.
  • Heat rest of the oil in a pan, tamper cumin seeds, chillies and finely cut onions.
  • Add dania powder fry for a second and then pour ground mixture with enough salt.
  • Allow it to boil in a medium flame
  • When its thick enough, add chilli powder, garam masala and stir.
  • Finally add Paneer cubes and mix.
  • Serve with finely cut onions and sliced lemon.
