Paruppu ussili (Aracha kalaral) with beans

Ingredients:

250 gms. french beans
1/2 tsp turmeric powder

for seasoning:
1/2 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp black gram split (urad dal)
2 red chillies whole
8-10 curry leaves

for dal paste:
1/2 cup toor dal
6 red chillies whole
1/4 tsp asafoetida
salt to taste

Preparation:

Chop cluster beans finely and steam cook(Pressure cooker can be used). Keep it aside.
Soak toor dal for 1 hour and grind it coarsely with red chillies and salt.
Now heat oil in a kadai and add the ingredients for seasoning.
Add the coarsely grounded dal paste and stir well till all the dal is separated.
Add turmeric podwer, salt to taste and cooked beans and mix well.
Serve hot with rice.
