Ingredients:
1 cup black eye beans
1/2 cup full moong dal
2 tablespoons oil
1 teaspoon cumin seeds (jeera)
1 tablespoon shredded ginger (adrak)
¼ teaspoon red chili powder
¼ teaspoon turmeric (haldi)
¼ teaspoon garam masala
salt to taste
2 chopped tomato
1 (big) chopped onion
For Garnish:
2 red green chili
1/2 spoon lemon juice
coriandar leaves
Method:
Wash and soak beans and dal for 4 hours or over night.
Cook them in pressure cooker and keep aside.
Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and when it splutters, add ginger.
Add onion and fry them till golden brown.
Add tomatoes and cook.
Add salt, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, cooked beans n dal with little water for the gravy and stir well. finally add garam masala.
Garnish this with coriander leaves and lemon juice
Black Eyed Beans curry is ready to serve hot with roti or rice.
