Ingredients:
Channa dal - 3 cups
Onion - 2 large
Green chilies - 6
Curry leaves - few
Coriander leaves - 1 bunch
Ginger - 1 inch piece
Garlic - 3 flakes
Cloves - 3
Cinnamon - 1 small stick
Fennel seeds( somp) -1 tbs
Salt to taste
Oil - for deep frying
Preparation:
Channa dal - 3 cups

Preparation:
- Soak the channa dal for two hours and drain it. Mince finely the onion, green chilies, coriander leaves and curry leaves.
- Crush Ginger, garlic, cinnamon, fennel seeds and cloves together.
- Grind the channa dal with salt into coarse grains. Mix everything nicely to make a dough.
- Make the dough into flat rounds. Heat oil in a pan.
- Deep fry the dough rounds in oil to golden brown on both side.
- Drain the oil and serve hot with tomato ketch up or chutney
